Do I get time off?
Yes, counselors and staff get a 45 minute break each day to check their phones and take care of personal business. Counselors also get one day off during the 11-day sessions. There is also time off between each session. If you need specific dates off it’s best to disclose that during your interview.
What is Rental Week?
During the middle of the summer, we rent out our campgrounds to a group. We typically keep around 15 staff members to stay and work as lifeguards, ropes crew, and cleaning staff. If you are not selected to work during these weeks you will need to make arrangements to stay somewhere else this week.
How old do you have to be to work?
You have to have graduated high school or be 18 years old. Sometimes we will hire 16 & 17 years olds to work as assistant counselors in our day camp program.
What happens after I submit my application?
Make sure you send out your references and follow-up to make sure they are submitted. You can email Brian@campwyldewood.org to make sure they have been received.
Your application is reviewed by the directors.
If you are selected for a position you will receive an email with a link to the Counselor Agreement document. This will need to be completed for your hiring process to be considered complete.
