Wyldewood is a Christian camp and Retreat Center facility. We have 200+ beautiful acres just north of Searcy, Arkansas. Established in 1948, it borders the scenic Little Red River and features thick timber, lush meadows and a truly blessed natural landscape. We are dedicated to providing an opportunity for people to encounter Christ, Community, and Creation.
Our Summer Camp has 6 different sessions running all through summer.
Wyldewood Day Camp is a program that runs for 9 weeks in the summer for ages 5-8.
Wyldewood hosts its own retreats for ages 8-18 multiple times throughout the school year.
Wyldewood can be rented for youth group retreats, church retreats, family reunions, and organizational events.
I could write a book about how my 30-plus years of involvement with Wyldewood has enriched my life, but it was those first few years as a young camper that really planted the seeds of faith for me. Experiencing the love of Jesus expressed through the counselors and staff from all walks of life helped to make Him real to me. As long as I am able, I will continue to support ministry of Wyldewood and do whatever I can to plant those seeds for the younger generations.
Wyldewood changed my life. It helped me to be a stronger Christian, and led me to ministry. I was blessed to be a camper, counselor and now a volunteer, and get to share my experiences with campers in hope they will do the same as they get older. God opened a door for me with camp Wyldewood when I needed HIM the most. It is pretty cool how God works!
Wyldewood is beyond description. I miss it every day. When I look into a starry night sky I remember 7 amazing summers with wonderful friends who became more like family with each passing year. I remember the power of God and the closeness of His Spirit. My experience at Wyldewood created a foundation for a life filled with the love of Christ and I am so grateful.
Camp Wyldewood has been College Church's home for our Back-to-School Retreat each August for a long time. We love having our retreats at Camp Wyldewood for a myriad of reasons. Here is a couple: 1). Chad and his staff are second to none. The Wyldewood staff always goes above and beyond their call of duty to make sure everything is ready for our group. 2). Camp Wyldewood has lots of things to do. Over the years, we have used low ropes activities, the lake and the BLOB, the pool, a slip-n-slide, and Archery Tag. Everything has always been excellent and led fantastically by the Wyldewood staff.
We will continue to use Camp Wyldewood for our retreat because the staff is second to none. We love the facilities and all Camp Wyldewood has to offer, but the reason we feel at home is because of the relationship we have created with the staff. College Church can rest assured that if Chad and his crew said they would take of it - it would be done. Customer service is a big deal and these guys to a tremendous job at it. I recommend you book Camp Wyldewood today. Just don't take our dates in August!
Wyldewood is what camp should be! While visiting friends in Searcy one summer, we spent a few evenings at Camp Wyldewood. Our two kids who were old enough to camp weren’t with us on that trip, but on the way back to Georgia, we decided that they just had to go to Camp Wyldewood the next summer. Fast forward a few years, and now both of them have served as camp counselors, our two younger children are campers, and we volunteer for a session each summer. Through its mission and its people, Wyldewood has become like a second home for our entire family.
Several years ago Chad Hudelson asked me if he could come to our youth rally in Poteau, OK to get the word out about Wyldewood. I thought, sure, but I don't know who'll come from this area all the way to Searcy, AR. Turned out it was us, the Poteau Church of Christ. God truly provided everything and more that we needed in a church camp. Two of the most important things to us were the safety and care of our children and to have counselors who were true Christian examples for our students. Wyldewood regards the safety and care of children as top priority and with the utmost seriousness and their counselors are some of the most outstanding young Christian men and women I have ever met. I not only would trust my own son and daughter in their care, but know they will teach them the truth and be a loving Christ-like role model. The kind I want my own children to be like. God, through Wyldewood, has transformed the lives of our students, parents, grandparents, and other volunteers who have attended and/or served from the Poteau Church of Christ, including myself. Glory to God in Christ for Camp Wyldewood.
