And a special thanks to you too, Dillon...
This year I sent postcards to all of our new campers in 2008...almost 300 of them. If you've ever hand-written 300 postcards, you know the diligence it takes to actually complete the task. Often I wondered...will anyone care that they get one of these?
Well, apparently, someone does. And his name is Dillon.
A week or so after sending out the notes, I got a letter back from a boy named Dillon who came to camp last year for the first time. A picture of his letter is below and it reads:
Mr. Robert Powell
Director
2-20-09
I received your postcard today. Thank you for writing to me. I'm looking forward to summer camp this year as I enjoyed my stay last year.
My mam mam and paw paw said I could stay longer this year.
Thank you again for the postcard.
Respectfully,
Dillon
Well, thank you too Dillon. I cherish all correspondence with our campers and your note will go onto a special place on my office wall.
I look forward to seeing you too this summer. Tell your mam mam and paw paw 'hello' and thanks for me too!
